Luminosity
Light has always played a central role in my work. Drawing from my background in glass, I create pieces that shift with changing light conditions, producing an ever-evolving visual experience. These luminous elements evoke a sense of magic and wonder, yet they also carry deeper meaning—highlighting themes of human excess and overconsumption through their jewel-like, opulent appearance.
Translucent and reflective materials allow for layering, creating depth and new color interactions depending on the viewer’s angle. My pieces are designed not just to be seen straight-on, but to transform throughout the day—morning light may reveal one dimension, while evening track lighting uncovers another. Like a sunrise, my work unfolds over time, bringing a dynamic presence to any space.
Texture is another key element. I manipulate materials to emulate natural forms or create illusions that challenge perception. For example, my reclaimed glass tiles—made from finely powdered glass—appear almost ceramic or cement-like, prompting viewers to question their material origins. This interplay of texture and illusion underscores a broader message: things are not always what they seem.
By merging luminosity with layered meaning, my work invites deeper engagement, sparking curiosity and conversation in any setting.
